Your Thoughts Become Your Reality (What Will Your Reality Be?)
What are your first thoughts when you wake up in the morning? Are you happy and full of joy? Or do you begin your day dreading the problems you are going to face? Since your thoughts become your reality, it’s important to pay attention to your first thoughts of the day!
Do you feel ready to live in the present moment, grateful for all that the day has to offer? Or, are the thoughts you approach your day with ruining your chances of living a blissful and harmonious life?
Since your thoughts become your reality, it is time to take control of the thoughts you have so that you can change your reality!
Your Beliefs Become Your Thoughts
If your thoughts become your reality, where do your thoughts come from?
If you want to know how your thoughts become reality and take control of your thoughts, it is important that you understand where they come from to begin with!
Our thoughts are deep rooted in our subconscious mind. What we believe to be true in our subconscious mind is what we take as our reality. This may seem confusing at first, but I promise it’s not!

We’ve spent our entire lives developing beliefs about ourselves and the world around us. These beliefs are often instilled in us when we are young. We often have limiting beliefs about ourselves that dictate what we think we can and can’t do with our lives.
And when we believe certain things about ourselves, these beliefs dominate our thoughts. From here, it is easy to see how your thoughts become your reality!
Here’s an example.
Imagine that you have been told your whole life that you just aren’t good enough. Over time, you internalize this belief. You then start to have thoughts that tell you how you aren’t good enough to overcome the challenges you face.
As a result of your low self-esteem, you feel discouraged, put in less effort, and fail to succeed.
This example shows how beliefs, thoughts, and behavior act as one big cycle. And this cycle reinforces the beliefs you have about yourself.
The mind is so powerful that it will even look for proof that the conclusion you are drawing about yourself is true! And even worse, it will ignore anything that contradicts it!
Breaking the Cycle
So, how do you break the cycle and learn how to shift your reality? Well, to begin with, you need to spend some time internalizing the idea that your thoughts become your reality.
But, it can be tricky to do this when you are in the moment! We trust our minds to just give us accurate information, right? It is pretty rare that we take a moment to sit and think about why we are thinking what we are thinking!
But, understanding the thoughts we are having and the places they are coming from is the key.

You need to recognize productive thoughts that build up your confidence and love for yourself. And you need to recognize the thoughts that do the opposite. These are the ones that pop in when we are at our worst.
A challenge or setback shows up, and instead of tackling it willingly, our brain sends the easiest message – the one that tells us we aren’t enough. And when you listen to those thoughts, your thoughts become your reality – for better or for worse!
Change Your Thoughts, Change Your Reality
So, if your thoughts become your reality, how do you change them?
Most of our thoughts feel automatic. Like an involuntary response to something else that has happened. We don’t sit around thinking about our thoughts, so it is natural that they feel random and out of nowhere.
Learning how to shift your reality starts with recognizing unhelpful thoughts and replacing them with more productive ones. Unfortunately this takes more effort than just ‘being more positive’.
For example, imagine that you hate your job and are looking to switch careers. This is a big step that comes with a lot of uncertainty. Your thoughts might be dominated with phrases like ‘I don’t have time to grow my skills’ or ‘I can’t just quit, I have a family to take care of’.
Since your thoughts become your reality, thoughts like this will make switching careers become an actually impossible task!
However, remember that your focus determines your reality also. If you start focusing on the things you can do to change your situation, things won’t look so bad. For example, you could start by taking an online course and working on it for 30 minutes a day instead of watching TV.

The story you tell yourself becomes your reality. It isn’t easy to rewrite your story, but with the right attitude it can be done.
A growth mindset is a useful tool that can help you change the way that you see challenges and obstacles. Instead of permanent defeats, obstacles become areas for growth.
With a growth mindset, you will recognize the difficulty of a task, but see a path forward. On the other side of the challenge is growth!
When you change your thoughts in this way, the story you tell yourself becomes I am working my way through a challenge. You are no longer bound to the reality that you can’t change careers.
Embrace the power of your mindset and start changing your thoughts and reality!
Your Thoughts Won’t Change On Their Own
Changing the thoughts you have so that you can change your reality is not an easy task! It means fighting years of beliefs that you hold about yourself that you need to break free from.
But, it is time to take ownership of your thoughts and your life. Your thoughts and beliefs about yourself will not change on their own. If you don’t start taking active measures to take control of your thoughts, you will find it difficult to change your reality.

How we think and what we believe about ourselves and the world around us is what we take to be true. But, if you alter a belief, you can change your reality!
Your mind is a gift, but it can also be a stubborn enemy. The first thoughts that you have aren’t always true. Instead of accepting evidence that you aren’t enough, challenge it! Look for some examples of times where you showed up and won hard!
Remember that the story you tell yourself becomes your reality. If you want to create lasting change, it is time that you start owning your thoughts!
